Alpine Rock and Ice - 3 Days

Rock Snow and Ice Skills for Alpine Climbing.


Service Description

The first day we head to the glacier to learn technical skills for glacier travel, and crevasse rescue. On the second day we learn alpine rock technique, belaying, short roping, and rappelling. In the evening we study the map and plan a tour for the next day. On the last day we make an easy alpine tour, putting all the skills we learned into practice! Topics include: Ice: crampon and ice axe skills, roping up for glacier travel, improvised anchors in snow and ice, crevasse rescue. Rock: Climbing technique, belay technique, improvised anchors on rock, short roping, rappelling Theory: Tour planning, map and compass, knots. Technical Level: You have basic mountain experience, can belay safely. Basic experience with crampons. Basic climbing experience. Fitness Level: Moderate, ascents up to 4 hours, up to 800 meters. Group Size: ​4-6 people/guide Inclusive: Mountainguide / Aspirant 3 days, Overnight Sat-Sun in mountain hut with half pension. Exclusive: Lunch snacks and drinks, transportation (Carpooling possible from Andermatt) Meeting Point: 9 AM Andermatt/Göschenen region, exact location will be determined depending on conditions ​​ Language: English/German ​Price per person 690.- CHF Included: - 3 Day Guiding with UIAGM mountainguide / aspirant guide - 2 nights in mountain hut with half pension.
