Service Description
Take your first step into the world of traditional climbing and learn how to place your own gear – for maximum freedom and adventure on the rock! Traditional climbing – climbing without pre-installed protection points – is the premier discipline of rock climbing. In this two-day course, you will learn how to properly place mobile protection (nuts, cams, etc.), build solid belay stations, and climb safely on undeveloped rock. Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge and skills to climb independently and responsibly in traditional climbing. Course Contents: - Gear knowledge: Get to know and properly use mobile protection devices - Placing cams, nuts, and slings – theory and practice - Building belay stations and rope management - Belaying techniques and rappelling - Tactics and mental aspects of traditional climbing - Climbing and securing your own routes under guidance Requirements: - Safe lead climbing (approximately UIAA 5 or 6) - Experience in sport climbing or alpine climbing is a plus - Knowledge in belaying with common belay devices Group Size: 4-6 people per guide Price: CHF 390 / person Included in the price: - Mountain guide / aspirant guide for 2 days - Organization of the tour Not included in the price: - Accomodation - Gear according to separate gear list - Travel to and from the location - Lunch and drinks - Insurance (accident insurance, association membership, cancellation insurance is the responsibility of the participants) Meeting Point: 8:50 AM at the train station in Göschenen Language: German/English GEAR LIST: Personal Climbing Equipment: - Approach shoes - Climbing harness - Climbing shoes - 2 locking carabiners (including 1 HMS carabiner) - Rappelling device of your choice (Grigri, tube, etc.) - Helmet - Chalk bag - Climbing rope (if available) - 1 set of quickdraws (if available) - Your own camming devices (if available, cams, nuts, etc.) Clothing: - Warm and suitable clothing for climbing tours, including a waterproof jacket - Spare underwear Special Items: - Toiletries, personal medications, small first aid kit, band-aids - Sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses, sun hat - Mobile phone - Half-fare card or GA - Thermos or water bottle - Snacks for 2 days

Cancellation Policy
PAYMENT The entire price (mountain guide tariff and expenses) must be paid in advance. CANCELLATION BY PARTICIPANT Cancellation costs: - up to 30 days before the course start, CHF 80.00 booking fee will be charged. - 29 - 10 days before the course start, 50% from the course cost will be charged. - 9 - 0 days before the course start, 100% from the course cost will be charged. In case the participant leaves the course/tour, 100% from the course/tour cost will be charged. CANCELLATION BY andermatt-guides We reserve the right to cancel a course at any time for any reason, including but not limited to: a) when we see that the minimum number of guests cannot be filled. The registered guests will receive 100% refund for the course costs paid to andermatt-guides. b) when the conditions in the tour region are too bad and we cannot find a suitable alternative tour. The registered guests will receive a refund for the course costs, hotel booking fees that are not refundable will be charged to the guest. c) in the event that the mountain guide is for any reason unavailable and no replacement can be found. It is the responsibility of the mountain guide to decide if a participant meets the requirements of the tour as stated in the tour description. In the event that the participant does not meet the tour requirements, the mountain guide has the right to remove the participant from the course. In this case there will be no refund of the course cost. CANCELLATION COST INSURANCE We recommend that the participant arranges cancellation cost insurance.
