2 days - Safe and efficient rock climbing.


Service Description

Climbing on natural rock is very different from indoor climbing - from route selection to belaying and climbing technique. In this two-day course, you will learn how to climb safely and efficiently on rock. We will teach you basic belaying and climbing techniques as well as tactics for lead climbing and abseiling. Our aim is to make you fit for independent sport climbing tours on rock. Course content: - Belaying techniques with semi-automatic devices & tubes - Lead climbing on rock: fall training & clip technique - Route reading and climbing technique for different types of rock - Re-threading at the belay station & abseiling - Tactics for rock climbing - Material and knot theory - Behavior & ethics when climbing in nature Prerequisites: - First climbing experience in the gym or on rock - Safe toprope belaying (lead belaying is an advantage) - Stamina for several hours of active climbing Group size: 4-6 people per guide Accommodation: Guesthouse Göscheneralp Price: CHF 520 / person Included in the price: - Mountain guide / aspirant for 2 days - One overnight stay in a shared room with half board - Organization of the tour Not included in the price: - Material according to separate material list - Arrival and return journey - Lunch and drinks - Insurance (accident insurance, regatta membership, cancellation insurance is the responsibility of the participants) Meeting point: 8.50 am at the train station in Göschenen Language: German/English MATERIAL LIST: Technical material: - Approach shoes - Climbing harness - Climbing finches - 2 screw carabiners (including 1 HMS carabiner) - Abseiling device of your choice (Grigri, Tuber, etc.) - helmet - magnesia bag - Climbing rope (if available) - 1 set of quickdraws (if available) Clothing: - Warm and appropriate clothing for climbing tours incl. Rain jacket - Spare underwear Special items - Toiletries, personal medication, small pharmacy, plasters - Sun cream, lip protection, sunglasses, sun hat - Cell phone - ½-Tax subscription or GA travelcard - Thermos flask or water bottle - Snacks for 2 days
