Urner Haute Route

Discover one of the finest and steepest haute routes in Switzerland

Service Description

Day 1 – From Realp to the Albert-Heim Hut After a welcome coffee in Andermatt, we send our luggage ahead to Engelberg and take the train to Realp. From there, we begin our ascent on skis, hiking over the Schafberg to the cosy Albert-Heim Hut. No showers, no Wi-Fi – but peace, phone signal, and real mountain charm. Day 2 – Over the Lochberg to Göscheneralp A short descent starts the day, followed by a scenic climb toward the Lochberg. Surrounded by dramatic granite peaks, we reach the summit with crampons and ice axe. A beautiful descent takes us down to the Göscheneralp and our warm, welcoming inn in Gwüest – with hot showers, comfy beds, and Wi-Fi. Day 3 – Deep into the Voralp Valley The day begins with a fun snowmobile tow to the dam. Then we skin up toward the Schinstock area and climb one of its steep couloirs using crampons and ice axe. A quiet, broad valley opens up on the far side, leading to a long descent deep into the Voralp Valley. We end the day at the rustic Voralp Hut – no phone signal, no shower, but full of alpine atmosphere. Day 4 – The King Stage over the Sustenhorn This is the queen stage: a long, breathtaking journey to the summit of the 3,502 m Sustenhorn. Depending on conditions, we choose the safest ascent line, with a steep final section tackled on foot. A grand glacier descent brings us to the Susten Pass and a well-earned night in a comfortable hotel with all the amenities. Day 5 – Final Descent to Engelberg An early start leads us into beautiful high alpine terrain toward the Fünffingerstock. The final climb is steep, but rewards us with stunning views. We enjoy a long descent across the remote Wendengletscher, pass the Grassen bivouac, and finish with a fantastic run into the Engelberg valley. The last snow gives way to spring flowers — and we end our journey on foot, fulfilled by an unforgettable traverse. >>IMPORTANT: you will receive a pdf with detailed info after booking<< Included: - 5 Days Guiding with IFMGA mountainguide / aspirant guide - 4 Overnights with half-board - Baggage Transfer Andermatt - Engelberg Not Included: - Rental Equipment - Transportation - Drinks, Lunch, Snacks - Insurance (accident, mountain rescue, travel, illness and all other insurances are the responsibility of the participant) We recommend to be a member of "Rega" Swiss rescue service. Price per person open group 1345.- CHF ( + CHF 24.- for non alpine club members) For private bookings contact us for an offer.
