5 Days of Classic Peaks, Glaciers and North-Facing Descents

Day 1: Realp – Schafberg – Albert-Heim Hut

We start in Realp (1538m) with a gear check before ascending towards Schafberg (2590m). After a relaxed descent, we climb again to the Albert-Heim Hut (2543m), our first overnight stay in a high alpine setting.

Day 2: Albert-Heim Hut – Lochberg – Göscheneralp

A short descent leads into the next ascent towards Lochberg (3074m). The route becomes more technical, including ski touring, bootpacking and climbing with crampons and ice axe.
A long descent brings us into the Göscheneralp valley, where we spend the evening at Gasthaus Göscheneralp (1580m).

Day 3: Göscheneralp – Schinstock – Voralphütte

After coffee and an early start, we ascend towards Schinstock (3161m). From the summit, we enjoy a long descent on often excellent east-facing slopes down to Voralphütte (2126m).

Day 4: Voralphütte – Sustenhorn – Steingletscher

A long glacier ascent brings us to Sustenhorn (3503m), the highest point of the tour. The descent via Steingletscher is a classic alpine ski line, winding between glaciers and crevasses down to the Steingletscher Hotel (1865m).

Day 5: Steingletscher – Fünffingerstöck – Engelberg

We ascend towards Fünffingerstöck (2993m). If conditions allow, we descend steep terrain towards the Wenden Glacier. A final short climb brings us to Grassen Biwak (2647m).
From here, a spectacular descent under the Titlis north face leads into the Engelberg valley.
