Day 1 – Oberalppass – Pazolastock – Maighelshütte
We take the train to Oberalppass (2,030 m), where our ski tour begins in open and scenic high alpine terrain.
In good weather and stable snow conditions, we ascend towards Pazolastock (2,739 m), a rewarding and accessible ski touring peak with wide slopes and fantastic views over the surrounding alpine landscape.
From the summit, we descend towards the Tomasee – the official source of the Rhine River – surrounded by peaceful high mountain scenery.
A short final ascent brings us to the cosy Maighelshütte (2,313 m), our accommodation for the night.
In less ideal conditions, or for a more relaxed day, a direct and gentle ascent to the hut is also possible in approximately two hours.
Day 2 – Rossbodenstock or Maighels Pass
The Maighels region offers a wide variety of ski touring options, allowing us to adapt the day perfectly to conditions and group preference.
For those seeking a more ambitious objective, the ascent of Rossbodenstock (2,837 m) offers a rewarding summit experience followed by a long and scenic descent back towards Andermatt.
Alternatively, a more relaxed but equally beautiful option leads over Maighels Pass (2,421 m), offering spectacular views across the high alpine landscape and a long descent through the Unteralp valley back to Andermatt.
Both options feature wide alpine slopes, beautiful terrain and an authentic ski touring experience in the heart of the Swiss Alps.
