The Rotondo region above Realp is a true ski touring classic in the Swiss Alps. Surrounded by well-known peaks such as Witenwasserenstock, Pizzo Lucendro and Läckihorn, it offers endless possibilities in a spectacular high alpine setting.
With its combination of hut access, flexible summit choices and long descent lines, this two-day ski tour is ideal for experienced ski tourers looking for variety and big mountain terrain.

Day 1 – Realp – Tälligrat – Rotondohütte
We start in Realp (1,538 m) and ascend via the scenic Tälligrat route towards the Rotondohütte. The route offers a beautiful introduction into the high alpine terrain of the Urseren valley, with increasingly open and impressive mountain views.
After a steady ascent, a short and enjoyable descent brings us directly to the Rotondohütte, perfectly located in the heart of the ski touring area.
At the hut, we enjoy a warm atmosphere, good food and the hospitality of the hut team – an ideal base for the following day’s objectives.
Day 2 – Läckihorn, Witenwasserenstock or Pizzo Lucendro
Depending on snow conditions, weather and group ability, we choose one of the following ski touring objectives:

Läckihorn (approx. 3,136 m)
A classic ski touring peak with a beautiful north-facing descent, often offering excellent snow conditions and a rewarding alpine line back towards the Rotondo area. -
Witenwasserenstock (approx. 3,085 m)
A varied glacier tour with wide high-alpine terrain and the possibility of a long descent all the way into Val Bedretto – one of the most scenic and continuous ski descents in the region. -
Pizzo Lucendro (approx. 2,963 m)
A longer and more alpine-oriented tour above the Gotthard Pass, featuring a panoramic summit and a scenic descent towards the historic Gotthard road.
All three options offer high-alpine terrain, enjoyable ascents and rewarding descents in the heart of the Central Swiss Alps.
Requirements
This tour is designed for experienced ski tourers with solid fitness and confidence in alpine terrain.
