- Free Touring Course Andermatt
Starting from 3000m we ski off the backside of the Gemsstock and begin ski touring from there. This course is made for people who already have some experience in freeriding and ski touring and like to ski more technical terrain. We learn how to plan a line, minimize risks and of course enjoy some great descents. The goal: Finding the best descents with short ascents! 2 days of challenging skiing. This course is designed to improve your skills and confidence skiing steep technical descents. The main focus is on learning skills and tactics. We will choose the runs depending on the group and conditions. 📋 On the first day we focus on basic skills with avalanche safety equipment, as well as the theory to be able to evaluate the avalanche report and make informed decisions. The second day builds on the first day with more advanced skills with the avalanche transciever, as well as more practical work making decisions in the terrain. Both days offer a mix of theory and practical learning. - Galenstock South East Spur, WS
The Galenstock towers high above the Furka Pass and offers with its compact granite and snow ridge a truly magnificent alpine tour. A journey which has everything a mountaineer's heart desires and it can compete with many well-known 4000m peaks. On the first day we walk up to the small and very nice situated Sidelenhut. A rather short hike from the road and therefore enough time to enjoy some cake at the hut and do some warm up climbing and training close by the hut. On the second day we start with head torches over the Sidelen glacier, followed by beautiful climbing on the spur and a steep snowy ridge to the top, where you enjoy a breathtaking view of the Valais and Bernese Alps. The descent involves some exciting abseiling back to the glacier. One of the most rewarding high-altitude tours in the Uri Alps. ⚙️ Level: Advanced to Expert 🏋️ Fitness Level: 1500m per day The classic glacier tour around Zermatt makes a great skiing Adventure! 4 days of skiing 4000m peaks around the Monterosa Plateu! Day 1. Zermatt to Monterosa Hutte. 🎯 Meeting Point 9.00 Matterhorn Bahn. We take the cable car up to Klein Matterhorn, and depending on conditions climb Pollux and ski from Schwarztor, or travers to Castor, and ski the magnificent Zwillingsgletcher down to Monterosa. Day 2. Monterosa Hutte – Gnefetti Hutte. We take an early start and ascend the Grenzgletcher to the Lisjoch, and up to Ludwigshöhe. If your lungs are up for it we can swoop up over the Vincent Pyramid before descending to Gnifettie Hutte Day 3. Gnifetti Hutte – Monterosa Hutte. An early morning ascent brings us to Parrotspitz, then a short descent and on up to Signalkuppe. One last traverse over the plateu and a short Climb brings us to the Zümsteinspitz where we can gaze longingly into the infamout Marinelli Coulour ;-) A well earned endless descent between the seracs on the Grenzlgetcher brings us back to Monterosahutte. Day 4. Monterosa Hutte to Zermatt. On our last day, we make the long ascent up to Nordend, before the final endless descent back to Zermatt. - Gletschhorn South Ridge, 4a
In the finest Uri granite, the south ridge leads in a beautiful line to the summit of the Gletschhorn at 3304m. One of the best ridge climbs in the 4th grade. We get an early start from Tätsch at 2272 just above Tiefenbach on the Furka Pass road. A beautiful hike, first over rocks and scree then a glacier leads us to the base of the ridge. Depending on conditions we need ice axe and crampons. Amazing and varied climbing leads us along the ridge over towers, through cracks and textured slabs to the peak. After enjoying the spectacular views we make a descent down-climbing and rappelling back to the glacier below. - Urner Haute Route – March 25
⚙️ Level: Advanced to Expert. Descents up to 40° in good conditions. Moderate mountaineering skills (crampons and ice axe). 🏋️ Fitness: Up to 1500m elevation per day. Day 1 – From Realp to the Albert-Heim Hut After a welcome coffee in Andermatt, we send our luggage ahead to Engelberg and take the train to Realp. From there, we begin our ascent on skis, hiking over the Schafberg to the cosy Albert-Heim Hut. Day 2 – Over the Lochberg to Göscheneralp A short descent starts the day, followed by a scenic climb toward the Lochberg. Surrounded by dramatic granite peaks, we reach the summit with crampons and ice axe. A beautiful descent takes us down to the Göscheneralp and our warm, welcoming inn in Gwüest – with hot showers, comfy beds, and Wi-Fi. Day 3 – Deep into the Voralp Valley The day begins with a fun snowmobile tow to the dam. Then we skin up toward the Schinstock area and climb one of its steep couloirs using crampons and ice axe. A quiet, broad valley opens up on the far side, leading to a long descent deep into the Voralp Valley. We end the day at the rustic Voralp Hut. Day 4 – The King Stage over the Sustenhorn This is the queen stage: a long, breathtaking journey to the summit of the 3,502 m Sustenhorn. Depending on conditions, we choose the safest ascent line, with a steep final section tackled on foot. A grand glacier descent brings us to the Susten Pass and a well-earned night in a comfortable hotel with all the amenities. Day 5 – Final Descent to Engelberg An early start leads us into beautiful high alpine terrain toward the Fünffingerstock. The final climb is steep, but rewards us with stunning views. We enjoy a long descent across the remote Wendengletscher, pass the Grassen bivouac, and finish with a fantastic run into the Engelberg valley. We improve your climbing technique together. An analysis of your training will take your sport climbing to the next level. Among other things, we will analyze your climbing style and learn how to climb efficiently, we will go into tactical route selection and look at different training methods. With the wide range of climbing spots here in Central Switzerland, there is sure to be something for everyone. - Ski Mountaineering Camp Disentis
3 days to expand your tool box for bigger adventures. You are an already experienced skier and want to discover the high mountains. This course is designed to improve your skills and confidence for ski mountaineering in more complex terrain. 📋 Topics Covered: - Tour planning and decision making - Rope techniques in steep/advanced terrain - Glacier travel - How to use crampons and ice axe efficiently Day 1 – Warm-up & Planning After a mellow warm-up run on the backside of Gemsstock, we head out on a short ski tour through varied terrain. We finish in Hospental with coffee and cake, then plan the next days: what to pack, how to prepare for a night in an unguarded hut, and how to manage food and gear. Day 2 – Into the Wild We take the train to Disentis, where we grab groceries and take a short tour from the lifts. In the afternoon, we leave the resort, traverse a glacier, and reach the remote Cavadiras Hut. Once there, we light a fire, cook together, and enjoy the quiet of the mountains. Day 3 – Big Descent An early start takes us back across the glacier and up to Fruttstock. If conditions allow, we ski its north couloir — a steep classic — all the way into Maderanertal. From there, we return home by bus or train. - Salbitschijen South Ridge, 5c
The Salbit South Ridge is famous worldwide for a reason. A classic granite ridge climb on perfect granite, high exposure, and an improbable summit needle, this climb has it all. If you think you can handle18 pitches, this should be in your bucket list! You'll have a blast climbing up cracks, slabs, and corners. On the first day we walk up to the beautiful Salbit hut where we enjoy a good cup of coffee and fuel up with a cake before we do some warm-up climbing just behind the hut. On the second day we start early and head up to the start of our long on beautiful climb. The tour leads over the towers of the south ridge with several rappels. The last pitch up the iconic needle is something you will not forget easily. After that it's time for a hike down to the hut and a refreshment before going back down the valley. Technical Level: - Experience in multi-pitch climbing (climbing, belaying, rappelling) - You can follow 6a outdoors and can belay safely. - Fitness for 5-7 hours of climbing plus 1.5 hour approach and 2 hour descent.
