Mountain Academy Andermatt – Alpine Courses & Safety Training
Alpine training for winter and summer: at the Andermatt Guides Mountain Academy, you learn to move more safely, confidently and independently in the mountains – while freeriding, ski touring, travelling on glaciers, climbing on rock or preparing for your first alpine tour.
Alpine Safety Begins with Experience
The mountains around Andermatt, the Gotthard region, the Urseren Valley and the Furka Pass offer ideal conditions for developing and improving alpine skills.
In winter, the focus is on snow, avalanches, terrain, route selection and decision-making in off-piste terrain. In summer, the emphasis shifts to rock, glaciers, rope techniques, navigation, weather and personal responsibility in the mountains.

Our courses combine practical training with genuine local experience. You do not learn in an abstract training environment, but where alpine decisions are actually made: in the mountains, with local guides and under real conditions.
Winter Academy Andermatt
Moving Safely in Snow
In winter, the terrain changes every day. Fresh snow, wind, temperature, visibility, slope aspect and avalanche conditions determine which tours are possible and which areas should be avoided.
That is why winter training is not an optional extra, but the foundation for making good decisions.
In our winter courses, you learn to understand snow and terrain, assess avalanche risks, use emergency equipment correctly and move more safely beyond the marked slopes.
