Route Description – Blashorn Ski Tour

From Oberwald or Reckingen, the approach leads gradually into the upper Goms alpine environment. The ascent follows the terrain of the Oberwalderblase, a key passage that opens access to higher, wide alpine slopes.

Above this section, the terrain becomes more alpine and allows flexible route choice depending on snow stability and visibility. The summit area of the Blashorn offers wide views across the Goms valley, Furka region, and surrounding 3000m peaks.

The descent is highly condition-dependent, with several possible lines offering either flowing open slopes or more technical valley skiing.

Descent Option 1 – Classic Descent via Oberwalderblase to Oberwald

The safest and most straightforward variant follows the ascent route back through the Oberwalderblase.
A consistent and enjoyable descent with open terrain, ideal in variable snow conditions or when avalanche risk is elevated.

Descent Option 2 – Gornerli Valley Variant (Advanced)

A more demanding and alpine descent leads through the Gornerli valley.
This line requires solid route-finding skills and good snow stability, offering steeper sections and a more remote alpine feel.
