AVALANCHE COURSE ANDERMATT 🎯 Learning Objectives This two-day course provides a solid foundation in avalanche awareness and the safe use of standard avalanche rescue equipment. You will learn how to interpret avalanche bulletins, identify hazards in the terrain, and make informed decisions in winter mountain environments. Both days combine theory and practical learning. 📅 Course Program Day 1 – Introduction to avalanche awareness and winter safety management
 – Familiarisation with standard avalanche safety equipment (transceiver, shovel, probe)
 – Understanding and interpreting the avalanche bulletin
 – Hazards of off-piste skiing and ski touring
 – Recognising the four typical avalanche situations
 – Strategies to reduce risk
 – Performing a basic avalanche rescue Day 2 – Practical learning in the backcountry
 – Orientation and slope angle assessment
 – Tour planning with regard to avalanche risk
 – Introduction to the graphic reduction method
 – Tactics for reducing risk in the backcountry 
– Avalanche rescue with multiple victims 💪 Requirements Fitness – Moderate fitness level
 – Ascents of up to 30 minutes on foot or skis Technical Requirements – Beginner level
 – Comfortable skiing slopes up to 30° in good snow conditions 🎿 Equipment – Off-piste or touring skis (skins recommended if available)
 – Avalanche transceiver
 – Shovel and probe
 – Backpack
 – Weather-appropriate clothing
 – Water and snacks – Helmet Optional: – Avalanche airbag backpack Rental equipment can be reserved through Imholz Sport Andermatt. 📍 Meeting Point 08:30 at Imholz Sport, Gemsstock cable car base station, Andermatt. ✅ Included in the Price – Guiding and instruction by a certified mountain guide or mountain guide aspirant
